Our Story

The idea for the business was created while helping my father-in-law change a smoke detector, 25 feet up on a ladder, over a set of stairs, at his newly purchased second home, within 10 minutes of his arrival..

 “There’s got to be someone I can pay to do this for me before I get here.”

Wasatch Homes and Land Property Management was created in 2019 with the goal of providing peace of mind for out-of-state homeowners in Park City and the surrounding areas. Home ownership in the Wasatch Back has many different forms: Nightly Rentals, Second Homes, Long-Term Rentals, or Primary Homes.  Sometimes one property can transition between each of these strategies within a short period of time! 

That’s where WH&LPM aims to be different.

We’re one of the few property management companies in the area that offer Short-Term Rentals, Long-Term Property Management and Second Home Watch services. This allows us to be far more dynamic with our clients, to ensure that they’re getting the most economical or emotional investment out of their properties as possible.

Our small team lives by the philosophy, “Quality over Quantity" and that shows in our relationships with our owners and the care that we take for each property we manage. We strive to be a valued partner with local market expertise, paired with home maintenance knowledge and robust and reliable partnerships with trusted trades.

Mike

CEO & Founder

Mike grew up in Texas in both the Houston and DFW suburbs, graduating from Southlake Carroll High School in 2009, before heading to the University of Oklahoma. After graduating with a degree in Advertising, Mike started working for a smaller advertising agency in Oklahoma City with clients throughout the state.

While at OU, Mike met his future wife Randi and they discovered that they each shared a strong desire to move to the mountains one day. Through the passing of his grand-father, Mike inherited a 37’ Carriage Carri-Lite fifth wheel and a 2004 F350 Dually; and with that, Mike and Randi started dreaming up a plan to move to the mountains.

Mike and Randi moved to Utah in 2015 and have called the Wasatch Back home ever since. After working from home for the OKC agency, Mike transitioned to Saxton Horne, a large advertising agency in Salt Lake City owned by the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies.

Two more years at a desk job was enough to ignite Mike’s desire for entrepreneurship and having successfully renovated a condo with his wife and created a profitable AirBnB, Mike knew he could do this for others. In 2019, Wasatch Homes and Land Property Management was created to service home owners in Wasatch Back and provide a peace of mind for our clients.

Mike and Randi and their two young boys Merritt (4) and Jude (1), call Kamas their home and plan to do so for a long time. The seasonality of the Wasatch is what makes it most special.

Mitchell Heberer

Mitchell Heberer is a former athlete and coach with a work ethic forged in the sticks of Wisconsin, where he grew up working construction in the family business from a young age. A lifelong passion for snowboarding eventually drew him west to Utah - and he never looked back.
While competing and coaching shaped much of his early adult life, Mitchell discovered that real estate and property management were a natural extension of what he valued most: showing up for people and being of genuine service. That coaching mindset - patient, hands-on, and invested in outcomes carries directly into how he approaches his work today.
After gaining nearly four years of experience with a large property management company, Mitchell partnered with Wasatch Homes and Land with a clear philosophy: quality over quantity. Wasatch Homes and Land is built around proactive care, personal attention, and an experience that both homeowners and guests can count on.
Mitchell is grateful to be doing work that matters and is excited about what's ahead for Wasatch Homes and Land and the clients who trust them with their most valuable investments.
